Top 5 facts that prove America was founded as a Christian nation

Image result for cross

Liberals now regularly try to peddle the absurd lie that America was not founded as a Christian nation. This flies in the face of all known facts and evidence, and is a blatantly dishonest attempt to re-write America’s history to fit in better with the left’s bigoted, Constitutionally-illiterate hysteria against all things Christian.
Here are the top 5 irrefutable facts that completely destroy the left’s ignorant misinformation about our openly Christian Founders, history, and republic:

5) The out-of-context quotes liberals use to misrepresent our Founders as non-Christian include ones like this from John Adams:
“This would be the best of all possible worlds if there were no religion in it.”

What liberals don’t bother to include is the full quote from this letter to Thomas Jefferson on April 19, 1817, which completely reverses the meaning:

“Twenty times in the course of my late reading have I been on the point of breaking out, ‘This would be the best of all possible worlds, if there were no religion at all!!!’ But in this exclamation I would have been as fanatical as Bryant or Cleverly. Without religion, this world would be something not fit to be mentioned in polite company, I mean hell.”

Another misleading quote liberals love to use is this statement from Thomas Jefferson in 1814:

“Christianity neither is, nor ever was, a part of the common law.”
What they leaving out this time is the fact that that Jefferson is referring to British law, not U.S. law:

“If, therefore, from the settlement of the Saxons to the introduction of Christianity among them, that system of religion could not be a part of the common law, because they were not yet Christians, and if, having their laws from that period to the close of the common law, we are all able to find among them no such act of adoption, we may safely affirm (though contradicted by all the judges and writers on earth) that Christianity neither is, nor ever was a part of the common law.”

Sleazy, corrupt, and dishonest…as usual.

4) The Founding Fathers (many of whom held seminary or Bible school degrees) are overwhelmingly on the record personally identifying themselves as Christians, acknowledging that we are a Judeo-Christian country, and governing directly based on Christian teachings and principles.

As the Heritage Foundation notes, Thomas Jefferson (the left’s supposed champion of strictly secular governance) even “issued calls for prayer and fasting as governor of Virginia” and “drafted bills stipulating when the governor could appoint ‘days of public fasting and humiliation, or thanksgiving,’ and to punish ‘Disturbers of Religious Worship and Sabbath Breakers.’

Heritage adds that Jefferson also “closed his second inaugural address by encouraging all Americans to join him in seeking ‘the favor of that Being in whose hands we are, who led our forefathers, as Israel of old….’ And two days after completing his letter to the Danbury Baptists, he attended church services in the U.S. Capitol, where he heard John Leland, the great Baptist minister and opponent of religious establishments, preach.”

This is not someone who believed that all things Christian should be eradicated from all things public. As usual with liberal contentions, their utterly false depiction of Thomas Jefferson as some kind of militant secularist has zero actual basis in fact, and serves merely to further their Constitution-shredding agenda against ever having to witness or tolerate free religious exercise.

Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Paine, Benjamin Franklin, and John Adams did unmistakably believe in preventing the Federal Government from adopting a national religion at the expense of the religious rights of the states. Some of them were even outspoken critics of organized religion. Some of them even wanted to reduce government involvement with religion at the state level.

But to suggest that these men were not religious, not Christian, not governing based on Christianity, or not perfectly fine with government acknowledging our Judeo-Christian heritage is dishonest in the extreme.

3) Benjamin Franklin, who liberals incessantly use to prop up their erroneous “church and state” fabrication, once proposed that America’s National Seal be an image of Moses parting the Red Sea, with the inscription, “Rebellion to Tyrants is Obedience to God.”

2) The left’s “separation of church and state” myth can be found nowhere in the Constitution. It was fraudulently invented out of thin air. The only restriction whatsoever that exists regarding government and religion is the 1st Amendment protection of the States and of the individual against the establishment of a national religion.

Some of the ratifying states, like Massachusetts, even actually HAD official state religions at the time of the Founding.
1) The Declaration of Independence (our core founding document…written by Thomas Jefferson) expressly identifies Natural Rights (the notion that we get our rights not from man, but from a higher power) as the justification for our self-liberation from Britain.

Video: Obama gives outrageous special treatment to Muslims while discriminating against Christians

Obama has used millions of taxpayer dollars to sue a company into giving $240,000 to two Muslims for requiring them to do their jobs and deliver alcohol in violation of their religious beliefs. Mahad Abass Mohamed and Abdkiarim Hassan Bulshale sought out the positions fully aware of their requirements, but are somehow now entitled to rob their employer blind for expecting them to do what they were hired to do.

This lunacy is coming from the same astonishingly hypocritical Democrats who saw nothing wrong with Christian bakers being prosecuted and bankrupted for not participating in homosexual weddings, or with Kim Davis being imprisoned for not complying with the Supreme Court’s blatantly illegal edict forcing Christians to endorse homosexuality or become second-class citizens.

Top 10 liberal lies about Kentucky Clerk Kim Davis

Christianity continues to be openly criminalized at every turn as Islam is given obscenely unjust preferential treatment at everyone else’s expense. This blatantly tyrannical abuse of power to tear down Christians while propping up Islam is an inexcusably bigoted and corrupt betrayal of the American people.

Supreme Court gay marriage ruling already criminalizing Christianity

Americans are now being intimidated, sued, and fined for disagreeing with homosexual marriage. There is already a lengthy record of Christians being bullied, harassed, and turned into second-class citizens for not participating in homosexual weddings, or for expressing dissent in any way. But the Supreme Court’s recent (Constitution-shredding) invention of a federal right to homosexual marriage is now legitimizing this war on free religious exercise.

Richard and Betty Odgaard of Iowa recently had to close down their company after two homosexuals came in and demanded that the Mennonite couple violate their religious faith to perform a wedding for them. They were sued for thousands of dollars and forced to abandon their successful business…all for the hate crime of daring to be Christian in public.

Despite the widespread public rejection of such fascist tyranny and persecution (which is only being done to Christians), this is far from an isolated incident. Cynthia and Robert Gifford of New York were fined $13,000 for not facilitating and participating in a homosexual wedding. Donald and Evelyn Knapp of Idaho even face potential jail time for the same offense, along with being sued and fined into bankruptcy.

And as Christian bakers are being forced to bake homosexual wedding cakes against their will and to attend “sensitivity training” for disagreeing, we are being condescendingly lectured by our moral superior in the White House about how Christians need to change their views. The news media, which have spent the last few decades helping Hollywood relentlessly normalize and mainstream homosexuality, are also naturally rushing in to propagandize for further attacks on Christians.

The New York Times is already demanding that we vindictively retaliate against churches for opposing homosexual marriage by using the IRS to target and strip them of their tax exemptions. CNN is already insisting that disagreeing with homosexuality in public is a criminal offense. And other media outlets are already openly censoring all opposition to homosexual marriage.

Americans overwhelmingly reject the left’s war on Christians, Confederate flag

Recent polls show that the vast majority of Americans oppose the left’s fringe, tyrannical crusade to demonize and eradicate all signs of our Confederate heritage. According to a CNN/ORC poll from Thursday, fifty-seven percent reject this uneducated smear campaign against the Confederate flag as a symbol of racism and instead embrace it as the symbol of defiance and Southern pride that it is.

And while mainstream Americans are correctly comprehending its history and meaning, another thirty-three percent (the Democrat base) are still hysterically shrieking, fainting, and convulsing…over a flag that had absolutely nothing to do with the Charleston shooting.

A Suffolk University/USA Today poll from Tuesday also found that a stunning seventy percent flatly reject the idea of a federal ban on the flag. And only thirty-eight percent (little more than the Democrat base) view the Charleston shooting as symptomatic of a larger problem with racism in this country.

Meanwhile, despite majority support for gay marriage (after decades of Hollywood relentlessly normalizing and mainstreaming homosexuality), Americans are also still solidly against the left’s tyrannical, Constitution-shredding use of un-elected, unaccountable activist judges to force it on us. According to an AP-GFK poll from January, fifty-seven percent think Christian businesses should be allowed to refuse to endorse or participate in homosexual weddings.

Democrats criminalize Christianity in the military

In a stunning attack on the speech rights and free religious exercise of U.S. soldiers, Democrats have released a statement confirming the unthinkable: Any soldier who professes Christianity can now be court-martialed and may face imprisonment and a dishonorable discharge from the military…even if they are a military chaplain.

The statement released to Fox News earlier today:

Religious proselytization is not permitted within the Department of Defense…Court martials and non-judicial punishments are decided on a case-by-case basis…

This statement follows a recent meeting between Pentagon officials and fanatical anti-Christian activist Mikey Weinstein, who helped design the new punishments for Christians who commit the now-criminal offense of sharing their faith with others.

Breitbart.com adds:

Weinstein is the head of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation, and says Christians–including chaplains–sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ in the military are guilty of ‘treason,’ and of committing an act of ‘spiritual rape’ as serious a crime as ‘sexual assault.’ He also asserted that Christians sharing their faith in the military are ‘enemies of the Constitution.’

Never mind the fact that the separation of church and state is a myth that cannot be found anywhere in the Constitution (as I have explained before), or that it in no way violates anyone’s rights to have to witness or tolerate someone else exercising their faith…or that the only actual violation of the Constitution here is this tyrannical Atheist attack on the 1st Amendment.

**Update** Facing public outrage and the first open act of defiance by a high-ranking military leader over this, Democrats have done a complete 180 and now deny that any of it ever happened, despite multiple, separate confirmations from the Department of Defense that it did.

Suddenly, they are insisting that, contrary to all known definitions of the word, “proselytize,” all they had ever actually attempted to criminalize by making proselytizing a court-martial offense was coercion and abuses of power to force religion on others.

This is an interesting twist, especially considering that military chaplains operate outside the chain-of-command and have zero authority over soldiers..and that it is already illegal for those within the chain-of-command to discriminate or to force religion on anyone.

And for the record, there is no known reference material anywhere that defines proselytizing as anything more than to convert or attempt to convert. Coercive force has never been mentioned or even implied in any dictionary or by anyone in office until just now.
